Philipp Esch
Short biographyBorn in Göttingen, Germany (1968). From 1986 – 92 studies at ETH Zurich and at the CEPT in Ahmadabad (India). 1994 – 97 member of staff at Morger Degelo Architekten in Basel and HPP Hentrich Petschnigg Partner in Berlin. Assistant to Meinrad Morger and Martin Boesch at the ETHZ and the EPFL from 1997 – 2002. Subsequently writer for the specialist journal «werk, bauen+wohnen» until 2004. In 2008 teaching appointment at the HSLU. Independent private practice as of 1999, from 2008 onwards together with Stephan Sintzel. Admission to the BSA in 2008. Since 2016 member of the panel for urban design in Winterthur. From 2017-20 teaching appointment at the ZHAW Winterthur. Starting 2021 visiting professor at Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio.
Stephan Sintzel
Short biographyBorn in Zurich (1970). Apprenticeship as an architectural draughtsman with Rolf Keller in Zumikon; studies at the Technikum in Winterthur, at ETH Zurich and at Columbia University in New York. Member of staff at Frank Zierau in Zurich and Buol und Zünd in Basel. Independent private practice since 2002, from 2008 onwards together with Philipp Esch. Admission to the BSA in 2014.
Marco Rickenbacher
Short biographyBorn in Rheinfelden (1984). Apprenticeship as an architectural draughtsman in Liestal, studies at HSLU Lucerne, FHNW in Basel and at UdK in Berlin. As of 2009 member of staff at Esch Sintzel Architekten, senior manager since 2017, partner since 2021.
Eva-Maria Nufer
Short biographyBorn in Brakel, Germany (1981). Studies at FH Regensburg, Germany. 2008-14 member of staff at A.D.P. Walter Ramseier AG in Zurich, Hotz Partner AG in Wädenswil, and Neff Neumann Architekten AG in Zurich. As of 2014 member of staff at Esch Sintzel Architekten, senior manager since 2021. Since 2021 Member of the board at "Genossenschaft Hofgarten", Zurich. Since 2023 lecturer in fire protection at Bern University of Applied Sciences.
